Adding years to your life and life to your years, isn’t impossible; ageing is inevitable but you can slow it down!!
Its really not a myth that regular activity can considerably increase your life span and you know what, you might even enjoy it….
Here at Fit Friends we offer special classes for older adults and the idea is, you meet new people, chat and motivate each other, to complete an exercise programme especially designed for you.
We know you won’t want to run a marathon, be the next Mrs Universe so our programmes are based on improving the aspects of ageing which can be debilitating in later life.
Every one of us changes physiologically with age, for example you feel weaker those shopping bags are hard to carry, this is because we lose muscle. Those jeans that once fit perfectly have gotten tighter, this is because we increase the amount of fat we have on our body…. A pain yes! Desirable No! So why not let us help you slow it down and even reverse it..
Lets check out a few signs of ageing….
Do you make a groaning noise when you get out of the chair??
This is likely to be because your leg strength has diminished and getting up is tougher than it once was. You probably also need to use your arms to get up. We can help by improving the strength in your legs so getting up is an easier task.
Hobble the first few steps in the morning??
Ceasing up in the morning becomes a very common problem.. but you’re ok once you get going right. We can help you by helping you to become more flexible, improving the way your muscles work.
Its difficult to determine how fast you are personally ageing this is a very individual experience.
However….. Whoever you are gaining strength, improving balance, coordination and generally staying or becoming fitter will enhance your lifestyle, helping you stay independent and confident.
So what are you waiting for check out our studio and don’t be put off by the big weights we wont expect you to heave these around.
But do take note of the space, it is your space to workout with your personal trainer in comfort and privacy. There will be a maximum of 6 people and 3 personal trainers in the gym at the time allocated for ‘Stay Fitter For Longer’ sessions. In your group will be a maximum of 4 people plus a personal trainer to ensure your group works out safely and effectively.
