What stops you from going to the gym?
12th September 2018
We all know it’s important to exercise to help lead a healthy life. Yet, when worries stop us setting for the door – or if ‘gymtimidation’ makes us want to leave again – it makes working towards a healthy life unnecessarily challenging.
Setting foot in a gym can be very daunting. The things our mind can tell us can be enough to stop us trying altogether. What stops you from going to the gym?
- “What am I meant to be doing?”
- “What if I look daft?”
- “How do I perform the exercises safely and effectively?”
Dark, loud, bustling gym environments can exacerbate this feeling. Loud grunts from muscle bound lifters. Weights littered on the floor. People with their heads down, music on, and a steely gaze.
At FIT Friends, we want the gym to be somewhere you’re feeling confident to attend. We’ll still work you hard, of course – but there will only ever be a maximum of eight people using the facility at one time, including the trainers.
For every group of 4, one trainer will be overseeing your workout, ensuring a bespoke challenge every time.
Worried about what exercises to do? We’ll guide you, helping you towards your goals. A full timetable of classes is provided to help you pick workouts that suit you at your convenience.
So what stops you from going to the gym?
Worried about how to perform each exercise? We’re here to instruct you, keeping you safe and helping you feel confident.
Small group sizes and a closed, by-appointment-only gym keeps the environment friendly, supportive, yet a suitable place to be challenged. There will always be equipment available, because sessions are planned to utilise the whole facility.
Separate kitchen and consultation spaces also exist for 1 to 1 consultations, emotional support and nutrition advice – giving you everything you need to transform all under one roof.
This blog will have more detailed information on different areas of fitness and nutrition, supporting you in and out of our gym space. Workout tips and recipes will have you feeling confident about your health and fitness progress, no matter your goals.
We’re all about helping you with a smile, challenging you during your workouts, and having you feeling pleased at your efforts after your sessions.
You can expect to make new friends, feel happier, and feel healthier.
We want to help you enjoy your life, and to sustain healthy habits, keeping you stronger for the long term.
More information on group sessions (up to 4 people) can be found on the website here. You can book with people you know, or come along and meet other people like you.
You can book on to a free ‘Taster Session’ on Tuesdays at 7pm or Saturdays at noon.
